The order of ephemerotteri is divided into ten families, which in turn are divided into a dozen genres and include insects vary in size from 22 mm of the Mayfly (mosca di maggio), ai 2-5 mm della caenis la più piccola.
Il nome di effimere si riferisce, precisely the short life of the adult. The key moment in the life of the insect hatching is defined and its remarkable transformation in the body, lose the ability to live (in fact the adult insect does not have a malformed digestive system, contrary to the nymphal state) and lose the respiratory system underwater breathing apparatus for a suitable outdoors. When a nymph is ready to flicker above you can tell by the color of very dark and shiny bags wing represented by those cases that contain just a hint of wings during the life of aquatic insects. There are several behaviors that have the nymphs in this stage: rise to the surface the effect of air bubbles that are created in the anchoring body to the film surface with the upper body. Breaking the nymphal shell out the bug directly to the air. In other cases, the insect rises to the surface alternating swimming fast breaks during which remains perfectly still. The transformation is performed as described above. Other emerging nymphs climbing herbs or stones or arriving on the shore, walking on the bottom. In these cases, the transformation is out of the water. Some are anchored to the bottom of a rock or grass, are transformed into a winged insect walking and reach the shore or are carried away towards the water surface.
Fishermen Fly define the insect that comes out as an adult winged insect "Dun" or "Subimmagine. Within a few hours, the insect undergoes further transformation taking finally finished all of the insect: in the jargon Piscator, "Image" or "Spinner." Only now the insect will seek a partner for mating, after which time, the males die, while the females return the water to make the last act of their short life laying eggs. After this last phase sopraggiungerà death and then the last stage of their lives as "Spent". Fish Ephemeral feed on in each of these stages.
